Dorchester Pre-School was established approximately 30 years ago.

Our current Ofsted rating is consistantly Good.  Our last inspection was May 2018.

We are very much part of the local community, being in the centre of the village, and sharing the same school grounds as the “big school” where many of the children move on to:  St Birinus Church of England Primary School.

We are run as a charity, governed by a Committee of volunteers, and staffed by qualified and caring child care professionals:

•  Staff are trained in childcare, and supported by people who are passionate about working with children. They handle the day to day operational running of the Pre-School
• Committee members , who are normally mums and dads, are responsible for the overall management of the setting, and for helping shape its future direction.

Many other Pre-Schools follow this same model, and we are a member of the Pre-School Learning Alliance, governed by their Constitution.
